Bonus Shopping

4:46 PM

Hello Everyone!!

I know I usually post about nail polish, but I received a lovely little bonus from work on Friday and so I did a little shopping this weekend!  Woohoo!!!  I will be posting individual reviews and pics of the polishes that I purchased and will also have a review of my most recent Julep Maven Box soon.  But first my shopping haul!!!!

OMG I had so much fun as you can see!!  And this really isn't everything because I didn't take pics of my clothes and accessories that I purchased.  I'm thinking about doing a haul video but I've not really done any vlogging yet and am a little camera shy and self-concious so maybe I'll get the courage up soon!  Would anyone want to see a video?  Let me know in the comments below, I think I might need a pep talk before I do! LOL

So onto what I bought!  First I just have to say that Charming Charlie, Sephora, and Ulta should send thank you notes to my bank account!

Ok I'm going to go in order of the shops I visited.  So first off was Sephora, I LOVE this store and I HAD to go since it's my birthday month and I needed to get my beauty Insider gift!

Let's go from top left to right: Sephora long lasting eye shadow in Mysterious Forest #46 (clearance bin), nails inc London Feathers in Brighton and York, nails inc London neon in Notting Hill Gate,  Illamasqua in Rare, beauty Insider birthday gift Benefit they're Real beyond mascara and Watt's Up Soft Focus Highlighter.  Phew!  I can't wait to try all of these polishes, I will have reviews and swatches then.  The eyeshadow is a green/black glitter shadow that I'm not sure how it will go, but I can never resist glitter shadows.

Then I went to Charming Charlie in which I didn't take pictures of everything, but in my main haul pic you can see the glittery pink wallet, sunglasses, and I'm not sure you can make out the rhinestone skull bracelet.  I also picked up a beautiful hot pink patent handbag and two new scarves that will fab for spring!

And then last but not least I went to Ulta, where I did the most damage!  Another store I could spend hours in, if it wasn't for the bloody sales people they now have in the prestige cosmetics area.  UGH!  The fact that they didn't have them before was why I loved to shop there.  If I wanted to be badgered I'd go to a department store!  Anyway back to what I purchased:

Once again from left to right; Urban Decay Naked Skin in 2.0, Smashbox Photo Finish primer in Light, butter London Ulta Exclusive set in Alcopop (this was such a good deal at $18, thought it was a good reason to try the lippy), Zoya Blu from the Spring 2013 Lovely collection, and POP beauty i-love palette in Chocoholic.

I was given samples of the Naked foundation with previous Urban Decay purchase and just LOVED it.  I'm sure many other bloggers have reviewed it, but it really is awesome I think.  I've been using a NYX foundation because I just couldn't afford the Urban Decay and I thought it was the closest thing, but the actual Naked foundation is so AMAZING!  It really is weightless and makes my skin look fab I think, or at least as fab as my skin can get LOL!  A few of my friends told me to try the Smashbox primer because I have an issue with oily skin, so I picked it up in Light based on their little dial thingy at the store.  I have to say I haven't felt the need to blot my face at all today, it's really great stuff!  As I said earlier I will review and swatch the polishes in later posts, but I will say this about the Lippy.  First it has an amazing scent, it smells like vanilla cake batter to me which is always nice since your lips are right under your nose!  BUT this stuff is super sticky I thought and really opaque.  I didn't care for the way it covered at all, so I'm kinda bummed about it.  Then last but not least is the eyeshadow palette. I've not worn any of it yet, but I did put my fingers in it all (before I took pics as you can tell) and it seems quite nice.  I was yearning for the UD Naked palette but honestly I have 2 Bobbi Brown palettes that I feel cover all of those shades already.  Also one of the vloggers I subscribe to did a review of an Estee Lauder duo in Raisins (I think?) and I thought a couple of these looked close, and at $10 how can you go wrong?

Phew! Ok I think that's everything, OMG my husband couldn't figure out how I spent so much but didn't have loads of stuff!  But I think I did quite well!

Have any of you tried any of these products?  What is your favorite foundation or primer?  And again would you be interested in a haul video?  LOL I'm addicted to those on YouTube!!

cheers xx

Emerald Green Barry M

7:10 PM

Hello!

Today I have for you Barry M Emerald Green, from my British Invasion treats!  I picked out all of my Barry M's online so I really wasn't sure what I was getting.  But since I have a love for green, I figured I couldn't go wrong with Emerald Green #284.

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this green!  It is such a deep and rich Emerald green I can't believe it.  The first coat went on a little thin, but covered nicely in two coats.  And the holographic glitters scattered throughout are AMAZING!  This polish looks like it will go on thicker then it does, but again it covers nicely in two.

I decided to try out a glitter that I had gotten at Ulta a while back Pinata-Yada-Yada as an accent.  I love how these look together, but felt they looked a little bit too Christmas-y for this time of year.  I do like the Ulta polish, it has lots of different colors and will be good to use with other polishes I think.  It has loads of hex and small round glitters in it and covered quite nicely I think.

I think after my first few interactions with my Barry M polishes I will definitely order some more!

Illamasqua I'm Perfection

5:46 AM

'Ello Lovelies!!

Today I have some swatches and my review of the new Illamasqua I'm Perfection Speckled polishes.  I had been checking the Sephora website frequently to find out when they were available and as soon as they came up,  I was off to my local store.  I walked all over looking for them as I was sure they had to be out already, my poor patient husband quietly followed behind me while I make 3 complete circles around the store.  Finally I succumbed and asked someone if they had them, she also went over to look around the nail polish and came up empty.  She checked the computer, as I was getting disappointed and the anxiety was growing; and she found they did have them and disappeared to the back room.  Couple minutes later she re-appeared with NEW SHIPMENT!!! That's right, they were still in the bubble wrap!!! OMG it was so hard to decide and she was so lovely and patient with my indecision!  I finally decided on two lovely spring colors Mottle and Speckle:

I totally thought I wanted the Fragile which is the lovely pastel blue, but once I saw Speckle the pastel lilac captured my heart!

First let's talk about Mottle....oh yummy mint chocolate chip!  Not only one of my favorite ice creams, but I love this combination of black glitters with the mint green cream base.  The formula on this was wonderful I used two coats, three probably would have given me full opacity.

Second was my surprise love Speckle!  This has the same black glitters in the bright lilac cream base.  I thought this polish might be a bit more pastel when I put it on, but it's brighter then I thought which is what I like!  Again the formula was great as with Mottle, and probably would have achieved full opacity with three coats.
I wasn't sure if I would love them as much as I did in the bottle, but was pleasantly surprised by these and look forward to wearing them and using them as accents.   You can see the full collection of Speckled polishes here on Illamasqua's website and can get them here on Sephora.

How do you feel about the speckled look?  Have you tried these yet?

Alright Lovelies!

When my wonderful in-laws came for a visit a few weeks ago, I had asked my sister-in-law to send them with some polishes of course!  And so I got my first group of Barry M and she included a lovely little number from A England.

Oh aren't they pretty!?!?  I was so excited to open them!  From top left we have Gold Mine Glitter 355, Teal 334, Ruby Glitter, Amethyst Glitter 354, (second row) Emerald Green 284, Pink Sapphire Glitter 352, Pink Quartz Glitter 349, and last but certainly not least is A England Dragon.  They really are lovely, aren't they?  Sometimes I wonder if I like nail polish more for how pretty it all is in the bottles!

I will post my review of the A England polish separately as that polish could become my very favorite ever!  I added a pic of the Ruby Glitter over China Glaze Wicked Style and Maybelline Color Show Onyx Rush below.

First of all forgive the mussed up job on my first nail, I was in a hurry to get them done before we went out for dinner that night!  Ruby Glitter has lovely little hex and round hot pink glitters in a clear base with small round and tiny black glitters.  I was hoping that this would have gone on a bit more opaque, but with two coats I think it did the job.  I didn't have to "fish" for any of the glitters and it wasn't too gloppy.  Overall I thought it was good and it will be a nice little glitter for my collection.

Do you have any Barry M?  I believe you can sometimes find them on Harlow & Co, and possibly eBay and Amazon.

cheers xx

Green with Illamasqua

7:14 PM

Hello Lovelies!

Today I have to talk to you about my first Illamasqua to join my family, Viridian!  I had looked at this polish several times over several different trips to Sephora, and then the good ole' IRS sent me some money back  and so she became mine along with several other goodies!

You probably can't tell from here yet that I love green.  In fact as I type this and think about it, I don't even really wear it alot.  BUT  I'm always drawn to it when I'm looking at clothes and make-up, even art and photography.  LOL I think I try to not buy it because I'm afraid I'll end up with all green in my life, and now I hardly have any!

But enough about me, can I introduce you to Viridian?

Sorry if this pic it too large, but I really wanted you to see this lovely color.  I know emerald is the Pantone color 2013, and I think his a beautiful deep emerald green.  If you look you can see the little glitter flecks in this, it kind of twinkles in the light!  You'll notice on my two middle fingers there is a bit of dragging at the base of my nail, I'm not sure if that's the polish or just my bad painting skills.  I added a coat of butter London in Knackered on my index finger.  I'll have a review of that later :-)  I just can't say enough about this Illamasqua polish, the color was amazing and the formula was fantastic.  I've recently purchased two more polishes from their Imperfection Spring collection and I'll have a review on those later.

What do you think?  Do you have any Illamasqua, do you love it?

cheers xx

Oscar Ready

Hello everyone!

I'm back with a new post!  Last week I had to order my Zoya nail polish remover and whilst I was on their website, I decided it was time to order something from the Spring Lovely collection and my first Pixie dust.  I settled on Jacqueline and Godiva.  Mainly because I do have a love for classic neutrals, but also because I thought I could do some fun things with them together.

First I will talk about Jacqueline.  What a lovely creamy yellow shade this little one is!  It almost looks like butter!  It has a soft iridescence to it's creamy base. As usual Zoya's formula was great, it was a little streaky with the first coat as most lighter polishes are but I think it evened out nicely with the second coat. I wasn't sure how much I would like this color, but once I put it on I knew it would be one of my favorites for spring!

This picture doesn't really do this polish enough justice.  It's just really lovely....as the name of the collection says!  If you're looking for a new neutral, that isn't pink and isn't beige then I highly recommend this polish!

Once I had this on, I still desperately wanted to try my new Godiva Pixie Dust but I wasn't quite ready to part with Jacqueline yet so I decided to try something new.  I added Godiva on my tips for a soft and texture contrast french mani.

I apologize that my lines aren't that straight, but I still really like how this turned out.  The Pixie Dust is really cool and I can't wait to wear it full on.   It got a little thick on the brush the longer it took me to do the tips, but that's expected for any polish.

If you're interested in trying a Pixie Dust or any of the polishes from the Spring Lovely collection you can find them here, as well as all Zoya products.  Have any of you tried any nail art with the Pixie Dust line?  Which one is your favorite?

Cheers xx

Hello everyone!

So first I want to apologize for not posting in ages!  Work got super busy and then my in-laws were in town from England, so I was a bit distracted.  BUT during that time I picked up some awesome stuff to blog about, including some new polishes brought to me from across the pond!

Also I've changed the name of my blog from nailsessity to Polish Pusher!  My friends kept telling me I was like a "pusher" when I talked about my polish loves, and so the new name was born!  I kinda love it and am going to be working on a revamped look for the blog as well.

I promise my posts will be more frequent in the future and I plan on doing some make-up blogs as well, since that is my second love.

I hope you've all been well and I look forward to sharing my new lovelies soon!!!

cheers xx
